By a stroke of Luck I stumbled upon MVF.
My twins had their 7th birthday recently at MVF.
The staff and their family-like approach drew us to this place.
We enjoyed it throughly!
My kids came away with a new appreciation for dairy farms.
This is a beautiful place, which is totally non-commercial!
Allison makes a great host!
We were thrilled to have the owner himself come out and enjoy some cake!
These memories will last a life-time for our family!
I would recommend this place to anyone for any kind of party, not just birthdays.

I sure miss the farm and all you.
Hope we can make a trip to taste the ice cream.
Love you all. Deb

Check out a recent New York Times article about small farms and branching out on artisan products....

Would you consider making cheeses and butter?

We buy your milk at the Leesville Harris Teeter and milk, butter and cream at the Wade Ave Whole Foods.
I'm mainly writing to say we love the addition of butter to your offerings at Whole Foods.
Those imported cultured Irish and Scandinavian butters have excellent competition on the shelf.
Also, I have to say I am an ice cream snob now--it's Maple View or homemade only!
Keep up all the great work you do to take care of your land, herd, and customers!
Thank you!

Why can't I buy Mapleview Farm milk at Kroger's any more? Is this permanent or temporary?
I will ask at Kroger's for a reason why also.
My kids drink 2 gallons of your milk every week.
We love it!

Have enjoyed your products through Whole Foods for years.
It makes me happy to support local farming and such a great operation as Mapleview.
For your buttermilk, you need to disclose the source of your "modified food starch" to meet new labeling regulations.
For all your products that are more than one ingredient, you need to list the allergens they contain.
For example, if the mono- and di-glycerides in your egg nog or coloring, etc.
is derived from wheat, people who are gluten intolerant need to know.
It would be better if you didn't use starch and chemicals and high fructose corn syrup in your products!
And it would be more in keeping with the reasons for which I buy Mapleview.

From Farmer Bob:
Thanks for the suggestion and information!
We'll update our Nutrition
page as soon as we get those details!
We'll also consider alternative ingredients that may be available.
- Farmer Bob.
I love your milk, chocolate milk, and egg nog.
Over Thanksgiving in Charlotte I had some GREAT bottled mocha from Homestead Creamery (in Va., I believe).
Do you have any plans to make such a thing?

I was sad to see that the Kroger at North Pointe in Durham was no longer carrying Maple View milk.
Is it coming back?
Please let me know.

I really like your milk!
I live alone and I buy milk by the quart.
My mother brought a bottle of the milk over and I thought it was so great that you still put it in glass jars.
I think this is a great selling point and the bottles can be used for so many things.
I haven't visited the farm, but I am looking forward to it in the future.
Thank you!

I am so proud to live so close to a farm buisness that is proving that small family farms are not a thing of the past.
It is here and it is profitable because people are willing to pay to know where their food comes from and
that it is free from hormones and antibiotics.
Just good, pure country beef and dairy products!

Dear Bob...
I am your second cousin, daughter of Vernon and Helen Rockwood.
Helen was your first cousin, daughter of Guy Nutter, Uncle Fred's brother.
I spent many summers at Uncle Fred and Aunt Ruth's farm in Corinna, which has given me many fond memories.
We are visiting family here in Raleigh, NC and found your web site.
I am so proud of your NC accomplishments and hopefully in the near future will be able to visit you.
Best Regards, Linda Azbell

Hello Maple View Friends,
.....writing you the day after July 4 in behalf of the Preservation Society of Chapel Hill,
which you have so graciously assisted for some years in donating ice cream for the hundreds of old
and young folks who come to our Horace Williams House headquarters in mid-Chapel Hill to have an
old-fashioned celebration of Independence Day.
I believe many of them come for the ice cream rather than the patriotic celebration of Independence Day.
I always scoop out the ice cream to the many happy folks in the long line and shout to them
"Thank your local Maple View Farms Dairy and Country Store!!!"
I know they appreciate it and enjoy it a great deal.
I am grateful to Roger and Muffin and all the good people who cooperate in this,
and especially for the great corporate community spirit of Maple View.
I can't emphasize that too strongly.
Long may your bovine banner wave in the spirit of freedom in this blessed land.

Considering a trip to buy your products but disappointed that you do not offer non-homogenized milk.
Does that fit into a 'special request'?

Your buttermilk is the best I've ever tasted!
Its rich in flavor, and I love the thick, creamy texture.
I plan to purchase a couple of gallons on my next trip to NC.
I'm also a milk bottle collector.
Milk seems to taste better in the old fashion glass bottles.
Great product!

Hello, I am a student doing a science fair project about milk and spoiling.
I need to form a hypothesis about which fat content of milk spoils fastest.
I need to have a source for my information.
Are you able to shed light on this hypothesis?
Thank you very much.

I love your chocolate milk!
Could you please post the ingredients?
Also, I can see from your pics that the animals are allowed to roam freely in your pastures.
I really like to see that.
Are they otherwise treated humanely?
Thanks!

From Farmer Bob:
Great questions!
We've pulled together a list of ingredients for our chocolate milk and other products and posted it online.
Check out our Nutritional Brochure.
As for treating our cows humanely, we certainly think we do.
We have even been accused of pampering our cows.
We find the happier they are, the more milk they give; so it's in our best interest to treat them well!
- Farmer Bob.
I love that your milk comes in reusable glass bottles, I love that you don't use steroids and I love that it's local.
My one big issue that is causing me to look elsewhere? Homogenization.
It's unnecessary (who can't shake their milk before pouring) and it destroys milk's beneficial proteins.
Please consider an unhomogenized version.
Thanks.
