I like the way the parlor is set up from the pictures I have seen on the internet. I grew up on a dairy farm in South Carolina. I worked in a stanchion barn. We milked 5 per side with my father. He taught me how to milk cows. I haven't been in a dairy since 1990. It brought back a lot of memories of working in a dairy. Maybe one day when I am up in that area I would like to take a tour of your dairy and livestock. Thank you, Michael Nettles

I grew up on a dairy farm in the west. I don't think I will ever forget getting up at 4 AM in the mornings as a teenager and going out to heard up the Holstein milkcows. It took us about 3 hours to milk 80 head back in 60's and 70's. We had 8 stations in our milking parlor and no pit, it was done on the same level so we had to stoop down to put milkers on. As an adult I sure miss having that early morning wake up call. Milking cows can be a very good experience for anyone. Richard Jungert

I love your milk. However, I have been trying to get one of those darned tops for awhile, and the stores don't seem to have them. Any chance you could sell them (not even for free, you can add a price to them!) at regular and your own stores? Thanks.

Not only am I frustrated with the bottle cap flying across the kitchen each time I have to remove it, I found out today that the bottle caps leak before the plastic ring is removed. I purchased 1/2 gallon today and when I got home and opened my trunk, I found that 1/4 of the milk had leaked into my trunk, an umbrella and also soaked the paper bags that the groceries were packed in. Not a happy camper! Love your milk, please hurry and come up with a solution to your milk bottles. Barbara

We live in Fuquay Varina, near Holly Springs. We moved here from Cary. We have trouble finding you milk in the new Harris Teeter store at Sunset Lake Rd and Holly Springs Rd. Could ya'll possible deliver to that store? We have asked the store manager lots of times and he says ya'll wont deliver it there. Thanks, Linda

I am a student at University of Mississippi. In our Social Studies class we have to do a community project. I did mine in dairy farms and I am putting you website in the resource kit for the other students, so they too can enjoy your virtual farm visit.

Please help!! As a boy in the '50s I used to spend my summers working at Hillandale and Croasdale dairies that were managed by my uncle, a Mr. Johnson. I'm sure they were neighbors of yours. Any knowledge or history of those dairies would be most appreciated.

My Lowe's Foods store has a description of your milks posted by the bottles. Maybe it's one they typed up; it lists the good things about your product. A Harris Teeter at which I shop also carries MV milk, but it's pretty hidden and if I wasn't looking for it, I wouldn't notice it as there is no sign at this store.
I really love your product. I'm sure even more people would buy it if you had a standard plackard to be placed in the dairy section of stores. I'd love to see more people supporting local business! Just a suggestion.
Also, what about pesticide runoff that may get into your cow's pastures or water? Is this controlled in any way like big organic companies claim to do?

Is there any plans to expand your delivery to the Lowes food in Garner? I work in Cary and buy it there, but would really love to have a store closer to home.

We were disappointed when you changed the design of the caps and also made the opening to the bottle larger than that of your previous bottles. First, the tab that removes the cap seal is difficult to grab and pull. Second, the caps themselves are difficult to remove and replace. Third, we cannot pour the milk without spills especially when the bottles are filled to the top. We simply do not have the strength and dexterity at our advanced age to pry caps and control the flow from a wide-mouth container. Your former containers were so much better. We hope you will come up with a solution.

Here's a different complaint about the caps--they leak! I always lay the bottles down on their sides in the back of my car, and pack groceries around them so they won't hit anything. Never once, in the ten or so years that I've been buying your milk, did a milk bottle with the old cap leak milk onto the floor of my car--but since you switched to the new caps, the bottles have leaked every single time--I have never once made it home from the store without milk on the floor mat in the back seat. I'm trying to figure out a different way to safely transport the bottles, but haven't figured it out yet. Wrapping them in plastic bags seems like the only solution.

Hello - I see on your site that your cows are not treated with rBST, but I'm wondering what other pesticides or herbicides they may be exposed to. Could you please let me know how close you are to organic and what herbicides and pesticides you use on your cows and their food? Thanks very much.

From Farmer Bob: With our customer's help, we did have a great day! See Muffin's Thank You note! - Farmer Bob.
We polka-dotted our white pour tops with nail polish, one with blue, the other with red. Now we don't mistake the whole milk for skim milk.

We, at Maple View Farm, apologize to everyone who is having problems with our new tops (believe me, I hear it from my wife every day!). Roger is working closely with the manufacturer to come up with something more user friendly. In the meantime, please ask for a free bottle topper at the MVF stores to get you through until then. And again, we really apologize for the inconvenience! We really value our customers and we are listening! Thanks for all your input.

Hello! We love your milk but really, really, really do not like the new bottle tops. The kids can't get the tops off. Please revert to the old ones!

From Farmer Bob: Thankfully, we're making progress on getting a new cap. We hope to have something better in place soon. Thank you for letting us know your thoughts! - Farmer Bob.
Ouch! I keep hurting my fingers trying to get the new tops off the milk bottles and have broken a few fingernails. I realize you may have changed because the old tops came off too easily but I preferred them to these.

From Farmer Bob: We understand about the problems with the new caps. Chris has problems with the tops too. The company that provided the old bottles went out of business and we couldn't find an exact replacement. We had to shut down the milk plant for two days to change the machinery over to use the new size, something we didn't want to do. Anyway, Roger is looking for a better cap and we hope to have something soon. We are so thankful for you as customers, thank you for letting us know your concerns! - Farmer Bob.
You should sell ice cream online, it would be very convienent!

Love your ice cream - love your milk!! However, the new milk caps are near impossible to get off and on. Why the change?

I have bought MVF milk for years and must say I was quiet excited about the new bottles... seems silly but I was so excited..seriously.. When I went to the store yesterday (Lowe's in Cary) and saw the new shinny bottle caps. This is the first time I have been to your site... little sad that you sell beef though. Vegetarians probably make up 50% of your consumer base.

I saw you on Turner South. When I think of sweets I do not think of ice cream. I don't dislike it, I just don't think about it. But the Carolina Crunch looked great. I like parline and caramel. Coming your way in Oct. Hope to stop. Going to Little Washington and New Bern. How far are you?

Now this is a stretch. I live in Michigan, and I just read a Daily Tar Heel article about your ice cream. The article was printed on a Clay Aiken fan website. Next time I am in NC I will look you up. I want to sample your Croon'n Clay's Carolin Crunch ice cream!

I saw Maple View Farm on UNC-TV Carolina Weekend last night. I did not know there was a dairy farm outside of Chapel Hill until now. The story was very interesting along with your website. I look forward to making a visit to your farm and tasting some of that great ice cream!

We love your milk! We are 2 and a half hours away and we go to Raleigh every two weeks, and I have to bring home 12 half gallons of milk and 4 ice creams cause everyone here loves it. If I could get it here, I could sell so much I could be considered part of the business. Only kidding, but I could sell a ton of it I will tell you that much. We love it to death... I would love to have it in my store in Chadbourn NC, could sell tons of it.
